Projects Overview.
The following are just a few of the well-known buildings and facilities in the greater Boston and New York areas in which we've applied our skill and expertise.

Projects Overview: Boston.   Boston Harbor Hotel.   Boston Harbor Hotel
Located at historic Rowes Wharf, the Boston Harbor Hotel offers the some of the most luxurious accommodations in Boston. The hotel's intimate lobby welcomes you with impressive spaces marked by hard-carved wood, Italian marble and an inspiring view of the majestic Boston Harbor. Port Morris completed a fast-track remodel of the fitness center to accommodate hotel guests during the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
  Parthenon Capital.   Parthenon Capital
Parthenon Capital is a private equity investment firm with offices in Boston and San Francisco. Port Morris was enlisted to aid in the renovation of their new State Street location. We provided the successful fabrication and installation of waterjet-cut marble tile and dimensional stone countertops throughout. Materials used included Bianco Laza, Botticino Classico, Fior DiBosco and Giallo Veneziano.
Projects Overview: New York City.   The Bloomberg Tower.   The Bloomberg Tower
This Port Morris project called for the installation of stone in 105 condo units. Materials consisted of select ranges of Statuary White, Botticino Fiorito, and Basaltina volcanic, selected and sorted at the outset, then hand-sorted at our facilities to ensure the tight range required by the developers.
The Chrysler Building.   The Chrysler Building
With its distinctive crowning peak, the Chrysler Building is one of the more provocative buildings to grace the NY skyline. One of the first large buildings to use metal extensively on the exterior, its beautiful, tapered seven-story pinnacle is composed of stainless steel. The building lobby is a particularly beautiful example of the Art Deco style, clad in different marbles, onyx, amber and chrome steel.

  Citicorp Center.   Citicorp Center
Another unique presence in the Manhattan skyline, the aluminum and glass Citicorp structure is one of the tallest buildings in New York City. Standing out among the flat-roofed prisms of midtown, Citigroup's pitched roof has become a powerful symbol of its namesake corporation. The slanted crown is 160 feet tall, and was originally intended to hold solar power conversion panels. The atrium, open-air concourse and office tower lobby were renovated in 1997.

  Fordham University.   Fordham University
In 2000, Fordham University constructed three new dormitories on campus, with the primary objective of the project being that the new structures maintain the look and aesthetics of the campus' older buildings. To that end, Port Morris successfully installed over 60,000 square feet of Ashlar granite to the building exteriors, replete with towers and turrets.

The Lipstick Building.   The Lipstick Building
This unique building sets itself apart from its neighbors by the elegance of its elliptical form, its striking Imperial Red granite exterior trimmed with bands of brushed stainless steel and its two-story granite colonnade. Nicknamed the Lipstick Building for its shape, the tower features a pedestrian plaza surrounded by a ring of two-story granite columns that separate the Manhattan streetscape from the building's glass-enclosed two-story lobby.

  MetLife.   MetLife
Constructed as part of a plan to reconstruct Grand Central Terminal, the MetLife building opened in 1963 as "The Pan Am Building" and was the focal point of Park Avenue. It was the world's largest commercial office building, and today it remains one of the forty tallest buildings in the United States.

New York Life.   New York Life
The New York Life Building's famed tower and gold-tile roof make a distinctive contribution to the New York City skyline. The Port Morris Restoration division coordinated and supervised the 1995 renovation of the gold dome. Utilizing a process similar to that in the manufacture of fine china, clay roof tiles received a 24-karat gold coating and were then baked in high-temperature ovens. This elegant building achieved New York City Landmark status in June 2000.

World Trade Center.   World Trade Center
The world's tallest buildings from 1972-1974, One and Two at the World Trade Center were a marvel of engineering. Faced with the difficulties of building to unprecedented heights, engineers employed an innovative structural model: a rigid "hollow tube" of closely spaced steel columns with floor trusses extending across to a central core. The Twin Towers, as they came to be known, were the first super-tall buildings designed for construction without masonry. Sadly, the towers were destroyed by a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
