Port Morris Tile and Marble Corporation, one of the oldest and most prestigious companies in New York, was founded in 1904 by Girolomo DeLazzero. Since our inception, each generation of the DeLazzero family has maintained a focus on quality and service in the specialized fields of ceramic tile, terrazzo, interior and exterior marble installation, and metal restoration.

Girolomo's son Vincent took over the leadership of our firm shortly thereafter and remained at the helm for fifty years, during which we successfully completed projects at such notable New York City buildings as the Plaza Hotel and the Empire State Building.
In the 1950's, under the guidance of Robert and Giacomo DeLazzero, Port Morris grew into one of the largest terrazzo contractors in the world, completing such projects as the Pan Am and Time & Life buildings, as well as Idlewild Airport (now known as John F. Kennedy Airport).
In the years that followed, we completed work on a number of some of New York's most renowned buildings in conjunction with such prestigious architects as I.M. Pei and Edward Durrel Stone - most notably the General Motors building and the St. Regis Hotel.
The 1964 World's Fair featured an impressive display of terrazzo in the New York State Pavillion which was designed and constructed by Robert DeLazzero and remains a wonder to see even today. Port Morris' success continued with our extraordinary marble and tile work at the World Trade Center and the Jacob Javits Convention Center. More recently, we participated in the extensive restoration of two New York City landmarks: Pennsylvania Station and Grand Central Terminal.
